Thanks for learning about us. This page briefly describes how we hire. It's really neat to meet and talk about what's inspiring to work on. Having said that, we know interviewing for jobs is a tough process. We hope these notes provide touchpoints for you.
Here’s our typical process. It can be tweaked depending on the role.
Apply as noted on the job description, typically via Greenhouse.
Hello call
A 1:1 video call, with you and the manager hiring for the role; or Nina or Kwin, the cofounders. This is for both sides to learn about each other, and see if we can have a good conversation where we're a fit. We'll tell you about what we're building, how we think about the market opportunity, and how our team works. We're eager to learn about you.
Paid take home exercise (compensated)
We do not do live exercises or tests. (No whiteboard coding.) Instead, we give you a sample project to take home. It's typically about a day's worth of work. We will pay you for your time. The goal for us is to get a sense of how you think and what it’s like to work together.
Take home discussion
If moving forward is the right step, we'll schedule a call to talk about your work. This can be a 1:1 or group discussion — we often like to loop in a couple teammates you’d work with.
Teammate calls
A 1:1 video call, with colleague(s) you'll work with.
References
We talk to at least 2 people. We typically ask to talk to a peer and a manager. If you’re a manager, we ask to speak also with a former report.
Thanks again. We really appreciate your time.
Sincerely, Nina & Kwin Cofounders, Daily
